Archer Takes His First Road Trip to Shiner, Texas!

Shiner Beer Mosaic at the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas

On July 22nd, Archer took his first road trip to Shiner, Texas! Aaron and I took Archer to meet his Great Grandma Boedeker, Great Uncle John, Great Aunt Michele, Great Aunt Margaret, Cousin Wade, Great Aunt Janie, and Great Uncle Johnny. We met in Shiner because Great Grandma Boedeker has a farm there, and it's closer than driving to Houston!

Since we didn't want to bother everyone with Archer being up every few hours at night, we opted to stay at The Old Kasper House Bed & Breakfast. We've never stayed in Shiner, and this was a great little B&B retreat. If you're ever in Shiner, check it out! Below are a few photos of the cottage we stayed in, which is separate from the main house. I wish we had gotten photos of the *HUGE* whirlpool tube. I seriously think 4 people could have fit in it comfortably!!

Kitchenette - so cute!

King size bed with our stuff all over it!
Our trip to Shiner went by really fast because it took longer to get there (stopping to feed Archer, etc.) and Aaron had to work on Monday so we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to visit with everyone, but it was really nice to see everyone and catch up!

We also made a quick stop by the Spoetzl Brewery...you know, where they make Shiner Beer! We'd never been there so we thought we'd make a quick pit stop. They have very limited hours so we didn't get to take a tour of the brewery, but we did get to visit the gift shop, see a movie on the history of the brewery, and have a few beer samples!! If you're interested in visting the Shiner Spoeztl Brewery, be sure to check out the dates/times they are open so you can actually get a tour.

Our visit to Shiner was really fast, but we enjoyed it. Next time, we hope to get a tour of the factory! We also look forward to chasing Archer around at the farm when he's a little older!
