Archer is Two Months!

Aaron and I have survived another month! (YAY!!)

Before I had Archer, I had a hard time imagining my life with a baby. I've never been what you might call a "baby" person; I was never really excited about babies. But any time I had a conversation with someone regarding children, they would say something like, "When you have your own, you'll feel differently." And it's so true!! Now, I can't imagine life without a baby!! Not a day goes by that I'm not amazed by the precious gift God has given to us. We are so thankful!

Here is Archer's two month update, which mostly consists of sleep & water-related activities:

On Monday, August 1st, Archer slept for 5.5 hours straight! I couldn't believe it. Then, on Tuesday, August 2nd, he slept for 5 hours straight. I was blown away! I thought we had the start of a trend, but I was wrong. The next night he was up every 2 hours. It was awful. I was beyond exhausted.

On Friday, August 5th, Archer was de-gloved! We removed his little mittens, started trimming his nails and watched as he started to find his hands!

On Monday, August 9th we started "Mommy & Me" swim lessons! It was a lot of fun, but mostly for Mommy since Archer slept through most of his classes. LOL. That same day, Archer took his first nap in his crib, and he slept for 2.5 hours!!

On Saturday, August 13th, at 2:30am, we had a small Thunderstorm, but it was the first hint of rain we'd received since Archer's birth. It didn't phase him at all, but it was nice to hear the rain come down.

Our biggest milestone to date came on Tuesday, August 16th -- Archer slept through the night for the first time! He went to bed around 11pm and didn't wake up until 7am. It was the most glorious night ever!!! Although I did wake up around 3ish wondering why he wasn't awake! It made me so nervous I had to check and make sure he was still breathing. He was just fine :)

On Thursday, August 25th, we had our second rainfall since Archer was born. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long, but it was great to hear thunder & see the rainfall...I'd almost forgotten what thunder sounded like! Archer also went for his 2 month check up that afternoon. Archer is on the small side weighing in at 9lbs 7oz, but he is healthy and happy!

What Archer has been up to this month:

• Holding his head up all by himself. (He's done this almost since birth, but he is getting less wobbly now that his neck muscles are getting stronger!)
• Sticking his tongue out -- to play & also after he eats. This kid cracks me up!
• Drooling! It's so cute. (I never thought I'd say that! haha..)
• Finding his hands & his feet. He loves to play bicycle!
• Playing with his toys - kicking them and trying to grab them!
• Smiling & giggling! He "hmms" and coos all the time, especially after he's eaten!
