Surprise! We're Pregnant!

On Friday, October 22, right before we left to go to Czhilispiel (prounounced Chili-Spill) in Flatonia, Texas, we found out we were going to be parents. I couldn't believe it! I had been feeling kind of weird for a few weeks, but I chalked it up to work and stress. We had been "not not trying" for a while, and I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I finally just did it. I took the test. Within seconds, the double lines appeared! I was totally in shock -- I couldn't believe it! I called for Aaron (and I guess I sounded scared or hurt) because he came running...but I couldn't get the words out. When I finally did, I told him he was going to be a daddy, and he laughed, gave me a huge hug, and told me he thought something was wrong.

I actually took two tests -- just to be sure!

We were so excited we decided to go ahead and share the news with our families - we didn't even know how far along I was, but it didn't matter! We told our families that same weekend, and of course, they were so excited! We went to the doctor about four or five days later, and as it turns out I was about 6 weeks pregnant. We broke the news to everyone in our families at our house on Thanksgiving day and called the rest, and we shared the news with our friends via Facebook. What a thrill!
