For me, morning sickness came in the form of nausea and queasiness, and it came in waves throughout the day. Sometimes food would sound great, smell great, and then I'd start eating it and feel sick. I rarely actually got sick, but sometimes I wish I could have because I think I would have felt better. (I don't know if that's true, but at the time, that's how I felt.) When I did get sick, it was usually from trying to drink my favorite (caffeinated) coffee. I know, I know, you're not supposed to have caffeine, but come on, everything in moderation! I gave up sodas when my brother went into the military a few years ago, so my morning cup of coffee was my primary caffeine source. After getting sick a couple of times, I switched to decaf, and things have been much better. Oddly, I don't really miss not having the caffeine, maybe because I didn't really have much before, but caffeinated coffee now smells like cigarettes to me, which is so gross. All in, I'm not sure what's worse: feeling sick and throwing up or feeling sick and not being able to throw up. I know my pick, but I'll let you decide.
I don't think anyone can really prepare you for how tired you will feel when you get pregnant. It didn't hit me until maybe 8 or 9 weeks, but when it hit, it took everything in me to keep my eyelids open. Thankfully, Aaron and I carpool to work so he did most of the driving for weeks because getting ready for work exhausted me and getting through the day exhausted me. I napped any time I could. On the weekends I could sleep for 10+ hours every night and take 2 hour naps. It was crazy! These days I'm not nearly as tired. It's strange, but I get really tired after I eat now. I'm not back to my "normal" energy levels, but I'm also not sleeping at the drop of hat either. YAY!
