Archer is Six Months!

Archer Cade Washburn, 6 Months (He's so tired in this pic!)

Every month, I'm surprised that another month has passed! Archer seems to grow faster and faster as each month passes. I think time has sped up since we had Archer!

Archer turned 6 months old at the end of December 2011, and he had his 6 month check up after the new year on January 5th. Archer weighed in at just a little under 18lbs. and stretched out to almost 27"! We also received confirmation that indeed, Archer had his first cold :(

Archer attended his first wedding on Friday, December 2nd, when DJ and Leslie tied the knot in Fort Worth. We all had a great time, but Archer and I got sick. On Saturday, December 3rd, Archer really started to get interested in his feet and toes! It's really funny to hold him in your lap because he'll stretch out and collapse on top of his legs to reach and grab his feet and toes. Seeing the world through his eyes is so much fun. We are so blessed by this sweet boy!

On December 9th, we picked out our first family Christmas tree. On the December 10th, took Archer to visit with Santa! Archer wasn't exactly excited about Santa -- I had to hold him so he wouldn't start screaming. He was really cute though!

That same day we had Grandma and Grandpa Washburn and Uncle Dennis come over, and we decorated the tree and celebrated Grandpa's and Uncle Dennis' birthday!

On Wednesday, December 14th, Archer began sitting all by himself!! We'd been practicing our sitting for a while, so it was fun to see him balance all by himself! This month Archer tried bananas (still a thumbs down), butternut squash (thumbs up), green beans (thumbs up), and apples (not sure yet on the thumb status)!

We celebrated Archer's first Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Washburn and Uncle Dennis. We went to CityView Church's Christmas Eve service, then we went home and enjoyed a wonderful meal, and Christmas day we opened gifts and enjoyed watching Archer try to eat everyone's wrapping paper.

What is this??
Marianne and Dad help Archer open his presents.
Archer won't let go of the paper!
Even Grandma helps!
Oh the glorious paper!!!
After Christmas, we let Archer take his 1st try at a sippy cup. I was really surprised because he seemed to know exactly what to do!

Mom, I'm a professional, I've got this.

All in all, December was a great month, and we had so much fun! Looking forward to the good times and great memories ahead of us!!
